Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is a 335-acre African-centered animal theme park in Tampa, Florida. It is owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment and first opened its doors on June 1, 1959. Serengeti Flyer
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will open a new ride in spring 2023 called the Serengeti Flyer. It will be the world’s highest and fastest swing ride, reaching speeds of up to 68 mph. Riders will be able to see the entire park, downtown Tampa, and the park’s 65 acres of animals. The ride is expected to last about one minute and twenty seconds.
The new Serengeti Flyer is the first of its kind and is set to open in the spring of 2023. It will be the tallest swing ride in the world, reaching speeds of up to 68 mph and a height of 135 feet. Riders will be seated in rows of ten across two gondolas. Guests will have a unique experience when they experience negative-G moments, as they soar high above the 65-acre Serengeti Plain.
Iron Gwazi
The Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida is a steel-track hybrid roller coaster. Originally named Gwazi, the coaster opened on June 18, 1999. The original version of the ride was built as a dueling wooden roller coaster with two separate tracks.
Guests can experience the new ride by purchasing a Pass Member ticket. The pass will allow guests to enjoy early access to the new attraction. The ride will be open to the general public March 11, 2022. USA Today ranked the new ride as the “Most Anticipated Roller Coaster of 2022.” Tickets are available online or at the park’s ticket office.
Iron Gwazi is the tallest and fastest hybrid coaster in North America. It plunges riders from a 206-foot peak down a 91-degree drop at speeds of up to 76 mph. It is Busch Gardens’ 10th roller coaster and features 12 airtime moments and three inversions. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.
Orangutan Outpost
If you’re in Tampa, Florida, you can make a day of it by visiting Orangutan Outpost. The park’s tree top observation posts allow you to observe the animals from up close. Visitors can also see white-cheeked gibbons and a rare Far Eastern crocodile. You can also dine at the Bengal Bistro or try some of the seasonal entrees in the Orang Cafe.
Busch Gardens has a new addition to their orangutan outpost. A newborn Bornean orangutan, named Luna, has been born to Madju and Luna. The two orangutans have been rescued and will be returned to their habitat shortly. Visit another area in town here.
