Lake Tarpon views
Located on the western shore of Lake Tarpon, A.L. Anderson Park boasts 135 acres of passive recreation. It features a boat ramp, nine picnic areas, a large dog park, and a boat launching area. It also provides a nature trail that leads to a boardwalk along the shores of Salmon Bay.
The name of the park is a bit of a mouthful, but it certainly does the trick. In fact, it is one of the best parks in the area. The park is a mix of natural and man-made features, including a BMX supercross track, baseball/softball fields, and restrooms. The park is a favorite with locals, who can find peace and quiet here, and a fun place for family gatherings.
The park also boasts a plethora of swanky restrooms, and a boat ramp. The park has some restrictions on water activities, but if you’re looking for a relaxing day at the beach, this may be the spot for you.
Paw Playground
Located in Tarpon Springs, Florida, the Paw Playground at AL Anderson Park is the place to go for a little exercise and a good time. Not only is this a fun place to play, it also provides a safe environment for your dogs to roam.
The paw-playground features a fenced-in 1-acre dog play area that is ideal for socializing your canine companions. This facility also includes doggie showers and a canine water fountain. It also includes benches for owners to sit on while their dogs enjoy the fun.
The one-acre park has two separate areas for large and small dogs. This fenced-in dog park is wheelchair accessible. This is the dog park with the largest doggie fountain. The facility is open from sunrise to sunset.

Fishing spots
Known for its largemouth bass, Lake Tarpon is a gem in North Pinellas County. With an area of 2,500 acres, it is one of the best places for fishing in Florida.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission ranks Lake Tarpon among the top ten bass lakes in the state. It is an ideal location for fishing tournaments. This lake has a wide range of bass species, including bluegill, black crappie, and largemouth. During the spring and summer, bass will gather in open water, searching for shad and cattails.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regularly samples bass during electrofishing surveys. The best areas for bass fishing are in the weeds and among the humps. The western shoreline offers a few small alcoves where bass will gather.
The area is ideal for bass fishing year-round. It is a great place for flipping biggie whips in the spawn. You can also catch catfish, sunfish, and bluegill.
The area is also excellent for bird watching. You can find a variety of birds at the Brooker Creek Preserve, which is located within the park. The area is also home to a wildlife education center.
Dog-friendly activities
